Why Most PPE Fails in Vending Machines (And How We Fixed It)
When you load regular PPE into a vending machine, you’re setting yourself up for problems. Products get stuck. Rubber bands snap. Coils jam. Workers get frustrated, and you end up with service calls that could have been avoided.
Here’s what we keep hearing from vending machine operators: “Products constantly jam in the coils.” “Rubber bands break and mess up the whole machine.” “We spend hours repackaging everything to make it fit properly.”
That’s exactly why we created VendPack – PPE that’s actually designed to work in vending machines.
The Problem: Regular PPE Wasn’t Built for Vending
Most PPE manufacturers design their products for shelves and bins, not vending machines. When you try to force them into machines, you get:
Size Issues – Products that are too big, too small, or inconsistently shaped for machine slots.
Rubber Band Failures – Standard rubber bands stretch, snap, and get caught in vending coils.
Poor Weight Distribution – Products that flip, tumble, or get stuck during dispensing.
Inconsistent Packaging – Every product feels different to the machine, causing unpredictable dispensing.
The result? You’re constantly dealing with jams, service calls, and frustrated workers who can’t get what they need.
VendPack: Engineered for Perfect Vending
We approached this differently. Instead of taking regular PPE and hoping it works in machines, we tested every VendPack product specifically for vending.
Precision Sizing – Every product is tested across multiple vending machine types. We know exactly how they’ll fit without getting stuck in coils or jamming in any type of machine.
Paper Band Technology – We replaced rubber bands with engineered paper bands that are 3x stronger and specifically designed not to catch in vending coils. They are also eco-friendly.
Uniform Shape Consistency – Whether it’s the first glove in the case or the last one, every product has identical dimensions for reliable dispensing.
How VendPack Products Actually Work in Machines
Gloves: We use sock-roll design making sure they are compact as needed. We use paper bands on PPE that cannot be rolled.
Safety Kits: We bundle small items like hairnets and earplugs that are impossible to vend individually. Our kits are sized specifically for vending machine slots.
Coveralls and Large Items: Those items are individually packed and ready to vend out of the box.
The Paper Band Difference
This might seem like a small detail, but paper bands are the key to everything:
Strength: Paper bands are actually stronger than rubber bands when properly engineered. They don’t stretch and lose their grip.
Shape Retention: Unlike rubber that deforms under pressure, paper bands maintain their form throughout storage and dispensing.
Machine Compatibility: The smooth paper surface glides through vending coils instead of catching like textured rubber.
Consistent Release: Paper bands break cleanly when needed, not randomly like stretched rubber.
