Frequently Asked Questions

What is the weight limit that can go in the tote bag?

The weight limit is 450 kg or 1000 lbs.

Over that weight, the bag and pallet will have visible damage.

In all scenarios, it is important for the client to make sure the pallet is safe for transportation.

Is there any PPE that cannot be recycled?

PPE that is infectious, dripping wet or used to manipulate exposed dangerous substances cannot be recycled. This is because of transportation regulations; material needs to be safe in case package breakdown during transit.

Does Go Zero possess any environmental certification?

Go Zero Recycle Magog 05 - Estrie 2026-04-18 Performance.

The recycling certificate provided by Go Zero counts towards ISO 14001, B-Corp and Boma certifications.

What happens if users throw materials other than PPE in the boxes?

We always ask participants to put in the box only what is appearing on it.

But all content is always sorted. If ever there are some other materials they are dealt with and recycled.

Most important is to avoid putting wet, dripping products in the recycling bin as mold might contaminate the whole box.

What are the products that the recycled products get converted into?

Currently for gloves we create a compound reused to replace glue in the tire recycling industry.

Recycled gloves replace virgin additives used to manufacture products made with recycled tires.

Gloves are also used in composite compounding mixed with thermoset plastics.

Specific question to foam earplugs – what are they converted into?

Disposable PU earplugs are mixed with other plastics. They are considered #7 plastics and recycled through a composite recycling process.

What are the locations of recycling and treatment centers?

Main facility is located at 2211 Tanguay Street, Magog QC.

Depending on location and waste type, material may go through collection centers before being directed to facilities in Drummondville QC, Magog QC, St-Élie QC, or New Brunswick.

Is there any content that cannot be recycled and what happens to that?

Everything received is recycled.

There is a 1–2% loss of material during the recycling process.

Non-PPE products are sorted and recycled depending on their composition.

Are the tote bags reused?

Yes. Tote bags are reused internally and filled with sorted material.
